Introducing the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Awards 2026

Share it

Every year, hundreds of new parenting products are launched with one shared promise: to make life easier for families.

Some introduce entirely new ideas. Others refine products parents already know and love. But only a select few genuinely shift the way we think about parenting, solving everyday challenges with thoughtful design, meaningful innovation and a deep understanding of what modern families actually need.

That’s what the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Awards are here to celebrate.

Unlike the Tell Me Baby Top Rated Awards, which are determined by thousands of reviews from Australian parents, the Editor’s Choice Awards are selected by our editorial team following an extensive review of each product submission. Every entry is carefully considered against its category, with judges assessing not only the product itself but also the problem it was designed to solve, the quality of its execution, its impact on parents’ daily lives and how effectively it stands apart from others already available on the market.

Our goal isn’t simply to recognise products with impressive marketing or a long list of features. Instead, we’re looking for products that demonstrate genuine excellence, those that make parents stop and think, “Why hasn’t someone done this before?” or “This genuinely makes family life easier.”

For 2026, products were assessed across four key categories:

This year’s recipients represent some of the most exciting products currently available to Australian families. While each excels for different reasons, they all share one common quality: they have been created with a genuine understanding of parents and a commitment to making everyday family life just that little bit easier.

Here are the recipients of the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Awards 2026.

Best New Baby Product

Recognising the most exciting new product to launch in the Australian parenting market.

The Best New Baby Product award celebrates products that have launched within the past 12 months and offer something genuinely new to parents. While many new releases focus on improving existing products, this category recognises those that identify a real parenting challenge and introduce a thoughtful solution that has the potential to change everyday life for families.

When judging this category, our editorial team considered originality, practicality, quality of execution, and whether the product delivered meaningful benefits beyond clever marketing claims. Above all, we asked one simple question:

Does this product make parenting easier in a way that hasn’t been done before?

After reviewing this year’s entries, one product consistently stood out.

WINNER — ergoPouch Drift Home Baby Monitor & Smart TOG Guide

If you’ve ever had a baby, chances are you’ve stood over the cot at bedtime asking yourself the same questions.

Are they too hot? Too cold? Should I add another layer?

Safe sleep is one of the biggest sources of anxiety for new parents, especially during those first few months when every bedtime seems to come with a hundred questions.

That’s what makes the ergoPouch Drift Home Baby Monitor so clever.

At first glance, it looks like a premium baby monitor, offering everything parents expect including crystal-clear video, two-way audio, room temperature monitoring, feeding and nappy reminders, split-screen viewing for multiple children and the reassurance of a dedicated parent unit rather than relying on your phone.

But it’s the feature you can’t find on any other baby monitor that made us stop and take notice.

Built directly into the monitor is ergoPouch’s trusted Smart TOG Guide. For years, Australian parents have used the brand’s “What to Wear” guide to work out how to dress their baby safely for sleep based on the nursery temperature. Instead of having to check a chart or search online, Drift Home displays those recommendations right on the screen as conditions change throughout the night.

It’s one of those ideas that feels so obvious, you wonder why nobody thought of it sooner.

We also loved that ergoPouch deliberately chose not to make this a Wi-Fi monitor. Instead, it uses secure digital radio frequency technology, meaning there are no apps to download, no passwords to remember, no software updates to manage and no concerns about your monitor relying on your home internet connection. You simply turn it on and it works.

In a world where so many baby products add more technology, Drift Home stands out by removing unnecessary complexity.

Every feature feels like it has been included because parents genuinely need it, not because it looks good on a specification sheet.

It doesn’t just help you keep an eye on your baby. It helps you feel more confident putting them to bed each night.

For combining thoughtful innovation with practical everyday parenting support, the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Award for Best New Baby Product proudly goes to the ergoPouch Drift Home Baby Monitor & Smart TOG Guide.

Highly Commended — ZinKind Touch-Free Nappy Balm

Nappy rash cream is one of those products every parent uses, but it’s also one of the messiest.

One hand is holding a wriggling baby.

The other is trying to scoop cream from a tube or tub.

Before you know it, you’ve got zinc cream under your fingernails, all over the change mat and somehow on your shirt as well.

The ZinKind Touch-Free Nappy Balm takes a product that has barely changed in decades and asks a simple question:

What if applying nappy balm didn’t have to be messy?

Its built-in silicone applicator allows parents to apply the balm directly to baby’s skin without using their fingers, making nappy changes quicker, cleaner and far more hygienic. It’s such a simple idea, but after using it, it’s hard to imagine going back to the traditional way.

The balm itself is equally impressive.

Made with 25% non-nano zinc oxide, it creates a protective barrier against moisture while nourishing sensitive skin with carefully selected organic oils. The packaging has also been thoughtfully considered, with the tube made from sugarcane-derived plastic to help reduce its environmental footprint.

What we loved most is that this innovation came directly from lived experience. Created by a mum of four, ZinKind solves a frustration that countless parents have simply accepted as part of everyday parenting.

Sometimes the best innovations aren’t the most complicated.

They’re the ones that make you say, “Why hasn’t someone done this years ago?”

For modernising an everyday parenting essential with a beautifully simple idea, the Tell Me Baby Editorial Team is delighted to award Highly Commended to the ZinKind Touch-Free Nappy Balm.

Best Design

Recognising the products that have been thoughtfully designed to make everyday parenting easier.

The best-designed baby products aren’t always the flashiest.

In fact, the best design is often the design you don’t notice, because it simply works. It anticipates the little frustrations parents face every day and quietly solves them. It makes getting out the door easier, packing up quicker, or those everyday jobs just that little bit less stressful.

For this category, our editorial team looked beyond appearance. We wanted products where every design decision had a purpose, from the materials used to the way the product folds, feels, stores or grows with your family.

This year’s winner impressed us from every angle.

WINNER — Edwards & Co Lucci

If you’ve ever travelled with young children, you’ll know the pram dilemma.

Do you take your big everyday pram that’s comfortable but bulky? Or do you pack a lightweight travel stroller and spend the whole trip wishing it had a bigger basket, a better recline or smoother wheels?

The Edwards & Co Lucci is one of the few travel prams we’ve come across that genuinely gives parents both.

Weighing just 7.3kg, it’s light enough to carry through airports and compact enough to fit in the overhead locker on many airlines. But unlike many travel prams, it doesn’t feel like you’ve sacrificed comfort or practicality to get there.

The seat is spacious enough to comfortably fit children from newborn right through to around four years of age, thanks to its full lie-flat recline and generous sizing. Underneath, there’s an impressive 8kg storage basket that’s big enough for a nappy bag, shopping or all the bits and pieces families inevitably end up carrying.

One feature our editorial team kept coming back to was the one-handed auto fold.

Because let’s be honest, when do parents ever have two hands free?

Whether you’re carrying a baby, holding onto a toddler in a busy airport or trying to fold the pram while juggling bags, being able to collapse it with one hand is one of those small details that makes a huge difference in real life.

We also loved the removable wheels, which make packing it into the car or checking it for a flight even easier, the self-standing fold that keeps the fabrics off dirty floors, and the generous UPF50+ canopy with ventilation for warmer days.

Even the choice of recycled OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics shows that every part of the Lucci has been considered.

What impressed us most wasn’t one standout feature.

It was how everything worked together.

Nothing felt unnecessary. Every design choice solved a real parenting problem, and that’s exactly what great design should do.

We also heard from parents who had travelled with the Lucci through Europe, airports, trains and cruises, with many telling us it had completely replaced their full-sized pram. For a stroller originally designed for travel, that’s a pretty impressive endorsement.

For proving that parents don’t have to choose between convenience and comfort, the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Award for Best Design proudly goes to the Edwards & Co Lucci.

Highly Commended — Ergobaby Upsie

Ask any parent what they’re carrying when they leave the house and the answer is usually… everything.

Nappies. Wipes. Snacks. Dummies. Keys. Phone. Drink bottle. A random toy that absolutely cannot be left behind.

The challenge is keeping it all organised without lugging around a bulky nappy bag.

That’s where the Ergobaby Upsie really impressed us.

Designed to be worn around the waist or across the body, it’s much more than a stylish belt bag. It’s a cleverly designed parenting companion that keeps your everyday essentials close by while leaving your hands free for the things that matter most, like carrying your child or pushing the pram.

Despite its compact size, the Upsie has been thoughtfully laid out with dedicated compartments that make it easy to find what you need without digging around. It comfortably fits the essentials for quick outings, playground trips, coffee runs or school pick-up, making it the kind of product you’ll find yourself reaching for every day.

We also appreciated how comfortable it is to wear. The ergonomic design distributes weight evenly, making it feel secure without digging in or becoming uncomfortable after hours of use.

And unlike many parenting accessories, it doesn’t look like a parenting accessory.

It’s sleek, modern and something you’d happily continue using long after the baby years.

What stood out most to our editorial team was its simplicity.

It doesn’t try to do too much.

Instead, it focuses on solving one everyday problem exceptionally well, helping parents stay organised while keeping their hands free.

For turning an everyday essential into something both practical and stylish, the Ergobaby Upsie is our Highly Commended recipient for the Tell Me Baby Best Design Award.

Best Innovation

Recognising the products introducing genuinely new ideas that have the potential to change the way we parent.

Innovation is a word that’s used a lot in the baby industry.

Every year we see products described as “revolutionary” or “game-changing”, but many are simply small improvements to products that already exist. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with refining a great product, but for this award we were looking for something different.

We wanted products that made us stop and think, “Why hasn’t anyone done this before?”

Products that solve a real parenting challenge in a completely new way.

This year’s winner did exactly that.

WINNER — FlexiSuit

One of the biggest surprises for first-time parents is just how quickly babies grow.

It feels like you’ve only just stocked the wardrobe with tiny newborn clothes before they’re already moving into the next size. By the time a child turns two, most families have bought their way through seven different clothing sizes, with many outfits only being worn a handful of times before they’re packed away.

It’s expensive, it’s wasteful and, for most parents, it’s simply accepted as part of having a baby.

FlexiSuit asked a simple question.

What if one outfit could grow with your baby instead?

That’s exactly what makes this product so impressive.

Using patented expanding fabric technology, the FlexiSuit is designed to fit babies from newborn (0000) all the way through to around two years of age. Rather than relying on oversized clothing, adjustable clips or awkward folds, the fabric itself gently expands as your baby grows, maintaining a comfortable fit at every stage.

It’s one of those ideas that almost seems impossible until you see it.

What impressed our editorial team wasn’t just the clever technology. It was how many everyday problems it solves.

For parents, it means buying fewer clothes and spending less time sorting wardrobes every few months.

For grandparents, friends and family, it removes the guesswork of trying to buy the right size for a growing baby.

And for the environment, it has the potential to significantly reduce the amount of baby clothing that ends up sitting unused in drawers or being discarded after only a handful of wears.

The innovation doesn’t stop there.

Made from 96% certified organic cotton, the FlexiSuit is beautifully soft, comfortable against delicate skin and designed to last through years of constant wear, washes and growth.

Throughout judging, we kept coming back to one thought.

This isn’t just a clever baby outfit.

It’s a completely different way of thinking about baby clothing.

Sometimes innovation isn’t about adding more features or more technology. Sometimes it’s about challenging something we’ve all accepted for years and asking whether there’s a better way.

That’s exactly what FlexiSuit has done.

For introducing one of the most original and practical parenting innovations we’ve seen, the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Award for Best Innovation proudly goes to FlexiSuit.

Highly Commended — Maxi-Cosi Raia 360 LX

Ask any parent what they dread most about the car and there’s a good chance they’ll say the same thing.

Trying to wrestle a wriggling toddler into their car seat.

Whether they’re arching their back, refusing to sit down or you’ve got your hands full with shopping and a baby bag, getting your little one safely buckled in isn’t always easy.

That’s exactly why the Maxi-Cosi Raia 360 LX impressed our editorial team.

The standout feature is its 360° rotating seat, allowing you to turn the seat towards the car door before lifting your child in or out. It might sound like a simple feature, but anyone who’s spent years leaning awkwardly into the back seat will appreciate just how much easier it makes everyday life. It’s kinder on your back, quicker during busy mornings and makes those multiple daily trips feel a little less like hard work.

But convenience is only part of the story.

The Raia 360 LX allows children to remain rearward facing for up to 30 months, giving parents the option to keep their child in the safest possible position for longer during those important early years.

We also appreciated the thoughtful details that make this seat easier to live with day after day. The top tether is attached directly to the base, keeping it neatly out of the way so the seat can rotate smoothly without the usual tangles or frustration. Two integrated cup holders keep snacks and drinks within easy reach, and the beautifully soft ECOCare fabrics, made from 100% recycled materials, feel premium while offering a more sustainable choice for families.

It’s these little details that elevate the Raia 360 LX beyond simply being another rotating car seat.

Every feature has been designed to make life easier without compromising on what matters most: keeping children safe.

For combining premium safety, thoughtful engineering and genuinely practical everyday features, the Maxi-Cosi Raia 360 LX is our Highly Commended recipient for the Tell Me Baby Best Innovation Award.

Best Eco Product

Recognising products that help families make more environmentally conscious choices without compromising on performance.

Today’s parents are more environmentally aware than ever before.

From reusable feeding products to responsibly sourced materials and innovative packaging, many families are actively looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact. But making more sustainable choices shouldn’t mean sacrificing convenience, quality or the performance parents rely on every day.

The Tell Me Baby Best Eco Product Award celebrates brands that are genuinely moving the industry forward through thoughtful product development. Whether by reducing waste, using more sustainable materials or rethinking how everyday products are made, this category recognises solutions that help parents care not only for their children, but also for the world they will grow up in.

This year’s recipients demonstrated that sustainability is most powerful when it becomes part of everyday parenting rather than an added compromise.

WINNER — Tooshies Disposable Nappies

If there’s one product parents go through more than almost anything else, it’s nappies.

Thousands of them.

For many families, cloth nappies simply aren’t realistic for every situation. Childcare, travel, overnight sleeps or busy days out often mean disposable nappies are the practical choice.

That’s why we were so impressed by Tooshies Disposable Nappies.

Rather than asking parents to choose between performance and sustainability, Tooshies has worked hard to deliver both.

Made using thoughtfully selected plant-based materials and responsibly sourced ingredients, Tooshies are designed to reduce their environmental impact while still providing everything parents expect from a quality disposable nappy.

Because let’s face it, it doesn’t matter how eco-friendly a nappy is if it leaks.

During judging, what stood out wasn’t just the brand’s commitment to using more renewable materials and reducing its reliance on traditional plastics. It was that none of those choices appeared to come at the expense of performance.

Parents still need a nappy they can rely on through long naps, overnight sleeps, car trips and busy days on the go. Tooshies understands that sustainability only works if the product performs just as well as the alternatives.

We also appreciated that the brand’s environmental commitment extends beyond the nappy itself, with an ongoing focus on more responsible manufacturing and continually improving the materials used throughout the product.

It’s a thoughtful approach that recognises something many parents already know.

Small choices made every single day can have a big impact over time.

For families who aren’t in a position to switch to reusable nappies full-time, Tooshies offers a way to reduce their environmental footprint without completely changing the way they parent.

That’s exactly the kind of practical innovation we were looking for.

For proving that parents don’t have to choose between sustainability and performance, the Tell Me Baby Editor’s Choice Award for Best Eco Product proudly goes to Tooshies Disposable Nappies.

Highly Commended — Haakaa Silicone Food Pouches

Every parent has probably bought those convenient squeeze pouches at some point.

They’re perfect for busy mornings, park trips and snacks on the go.

The downside?

Once they’re empty, they head straight into the bin.

The Haakaa Silicone Food Pouches offer a simple alternative that makes it easy for families to cut down on single-use packaging without giving up the convenience they love.

Made from durable food-grade silicone, the reusable pouches can be filled with homemade purees, yoghurt, smoothies or snacks, then washed and used again and again.

What we loved most is how easy they’ve made the process.

The wide opening makes filling them quick and mess-free, they’re simple to clean, and they’re perfectly sized for little hands learning to feed themselves. Parents can prepare food at home, know exactly what’s going into it and have it ready to grab from the fridge whenever they need it.

Like all great eco products, they don’t ask families to completely change the way they do things.

They simply replace a single-use product with one that’s designed to last.

It’s a small swap that can prevent hundreds of disposable pouches from ending up in landfill over the course of a child’s feeding journey.

For creating a practical, reusable product that fits seamlessly into everyday family life, the Haakaa Silicone Food Pouches are our Highly Commended recipient for the Tell Me Baby Best Eco Product Award.
