6 little things that make having a baby the best
It’s a difficult time for everyone right now – particularly if you are expecting a baby.

1. Unlimited cuddles
Baby cuddles are the best kind of cuddles. At first, you’ll be the one initiating all of the sleepy snuggles, but as they grow, watching them crawl over to you for a cuddle and a kiss will melt your heart (in a good way of course).
2. Their smiles
Smiling is one of the ways babies develop emotional connections and foster bonding and attachment. In the beginning, you’ll spend hours smiling down at the gorgeous baby in your arms, but the moment your baby smiles back is magic. And don’t even get us started about their first giggles.
3. That newborn smell
One of life’s greatest mysteries is how and why babies manage to smell so good. Although there are a few theories about the source of that sweet, sweet smell, let’s not get bogged down with the facts and instead focus on how good it will feel when you’re getting a good dose of your baby’s scent. Bliss!
4. Watching them sleep
Having a baby is the only time watching someone sleep is wholly acceptable – and even recommended! You’ll be in complete awe of the little life you’re now responsible for while gazing at them sleeping. Watch out for when their cute little hand wraps around your finger as they sleep; it might bring a small happy tear to your eye.
5. Chatty Cathy
Babies love to chatter, and at around three to four months of age the ‘ga ga’, ‘ba ba’, ‘ma ma’ and ‘da da’ can start. These conversations, while making zero sense, will bring you and your baby so much joy as they try to communicate with you.
6. SO much love
Whatever you thought you knew about love, go right ahead and throw it out the window because how you feel when holding your baby for the first time will be unlike anything you’ve experienced before. It’s as though your heart has to expand to make room for all the extra love you have. Suddenly, this little person is the only thing that matters, and you will do anything for them.
