The top 200 baby names in NSW have been announced

NSW Births, Deaths & Marriages has released the most popular 100 baby names in the state for 2021, and while the top contenders aren’t a surprise, there are some name trends that we’re excited to see make an appearance.

Quinn made its debut at 93, making it a baby name to watch over the next few years.

Other rising stars include Nora (which went from 153 to 89), and Maxwell (which jumped from 146 to 97).

One trend we’re seeing is parents naming their children the shortened version of a name instead of the formal one. For example, Jack, Charlie, Archie, Ella, Evie, Ellie, Frankie, Billie, Millie, and Bella.

But when it comes to the top names, Oliver and Olivia reign supreme (again!). Oliver has held the number one place since 2014 and Olivia has appeared in the top five since then.
