The Braun thermoscan thermometer leaves me feeling more anxiety than a typical thermometer. When placing the thermometer in the ear, if the angle is not perfect, the device will provide a completely different reading.
The needed cartridges provide an added price which has the parent or carer having to try and source them in the shops just to read the babies temperature.
The upside is that it’s easier than partially undressing a newborn to put a standard thermometer under their arm.

The Braun ThermoScan 5 Ear Thermometer is honestly one of the most used baby items we’ve ever purchased. We bought it over six years ago when we had our first child, and it’s still something we use all the time with our kids now. It’s been incredibly reliable and accurate, which is exactly what you want when you’re checking a sick child’s temperature in the middle of the night.

I love how quick and easy it is to use, especially with babies and toddlers who don’t want to sit still. Within seconds you have a reading, and I’ve always trusted the results. It’s one of those products you don’t realise how essential it is until you have children — and now I honestly couldn’t go without it.

The quality has held up really well over the years despite constant use, and it still works perfectly. It gives such peace of mind when your kids are unwell.

Highly recommend. Can use in any situation when baby is sleeping or doing literally anything. Gives fast accurate results. Well and truly worth every penny. Results taken with the braun thermoscan were identical to those take under the armpit while being discreet and not making baby uncomfortable or fussy with the thermometer under there arms. Definently don’t buy anything else
