Delicious on-the-go-snacks that make babies (and their parents) happy

Share it

As soon as your baby starts putting things in their mouth, you’ll be on the lookout for suitable and satisfying on-the-go snacks – especially during those difficult teething times.

Kiddylicious has released a new range of wafers, perfect for babies from the age of six months – and not only do they come in two yummy flavours (raspberry and blueberry), but they’re also free from gluten, nuts, egg and dairy, and have no added salt, sugar, artificial flavours, artificial preservatives or colours.

They certainly look and sound good enough to eat, but what do babies think of them? A team of parents from the Tell Me Baby Community put Kiddylicious Wafers to the ultimate test. And with a result of 4.3 out 5 stars, it seems that their babies were more than impressed – as were the parents themselves.

“These are such a life saver!”

Overall, the parents found that Kiddylicious Wafers were just what their little ones were after. “Handy snacks that don’t make much mess to keep the baby occupied while we eat dinner (after he has eaten his),” said one happy parent. “My 8 month literally sings and dances whenever I hand him one of these, he loves them so much!”

Another parent was equally thrilled. “My girl loves these, they disappear too quickly in my house!” they said. “I love the convenience of the individual packets and most of all love that my daughter enjoys eating them!”

Other parents liked the way that these snacks didn’t go soggy like many others on the market. “I liked that the wafers weren’t too soft and messy,” was one comment. “We have tried other types but they’re either too hard or too soft and messy.”

“Perfect size for self-feeding”

The success of these snacks also came down to the size and shape, appealing to little ones who like to take charge and feed themselves. “The wafers are a perfect size for little fingers, they are easy for my girl to hold onto while feeding herself making her feel independent,” said one parent.

“What appeals to me most and why I recommend these wafers is that they are a good motor skill development snack,” commented another. “Very lightweight, easy for baby to grasp and hold.”

But how do they taste?

Overall, the fruity flavour really appealed to the taste-testers. “I tried the raspberry flavour and I was pleasantly surprised,” one mum said. “It actually tasted like raspberry. I now understand why my son likes them so much.”

“The flavour was very subtle and not too sweet, it wasn’t ‘fake’ tasting either,” said another parent. “Bub seems to enjoy chomping on them whilst he cuts all his teeth.”

Verdict: Worry-free snacks for 6 months +

Making healthy choices for their family is important to parents, particularly if their babies have dietary restrictions. “These are such a big hit for us!” said one parent. “It’s hard to find easy snacks that are dairy free for my CMPI baby. She loves these! They break down easily so no worry of choking. Perfect to self feed, and a great addition to our safe solids list! Glad we found these.”

“My son is dairy and soy free so he was able to eat these with no issues,” said another parent. While another commented, “We are quite careful in this house to read the labels on food. Especially anything for babies and toddlers. I’m super happy with the ingredients.”
