“I just dry heaved”: Mum’s method for removing baby’s snot goes viral

Share it

A mum has taken to TikTok to share how she clears snot from her baby’s nose, and it’s making people feel a little queasy.

Whitney Leavitt, a mum of two, says, “Okay, so this is how I get Liam’s boogies out. I did this in front of my friends and family not thinking anything of it. They literally were like dry heaving.”

“I put my mouth over his nose and suck it out.”

The mum then sucks the snot out of her son’s nose and goes off-camera to spit it out.

Whitney captioned the video: “It’s okay you can vomit if you need to.” And after watching this video multiple times, I think I might.

She’s not the only one

The video has since been deleted (you can watch a nurse’s reaction to it above), but before it was removed from the platform parents chimed in.

“I DO THIS TOO AND I’M NOT ASHAMED,” said one mum.

“Yuuuup. We do what it takes,” said another parent.

Lots of people who commented on Whitney’s video say they don’t want to believe that her snot-removing method is real.

“Lmaooo I’m thrown but entertained,” said one person.

Another said: “You’re joking 😂😭 gotta be.”

“Noooo this can’t be real,” added another.

Others said it made them dry heave.

“I just dry heaved too 😂 I wasn’t expecting that,” said a viewer.

“I love you and your page but you got me dry heaving over here.”

Snot suckers

Some parents suggested Whitney try products designed to do just what she was doing – with no mouth-to-nose action needed.

Parents in the Tell Me Baby community rave about the Snotty Noses Snotty Boss Nasal Kit (it currently has a 4.7-star rating).

The ultra-quiet battery-powered Snotty Boss Aspirator allows you to gently and safely remove snot from your child’s nose in seconds.

One Tell Me Baby reviewer wrote: “This product is such a hit in our household. Initially, I thought my baby would hate having something like this up her nose but from even the first time using it she was all smiles and trying to put it in her mouth.

“The suction is super strong but it’s also very quiet so it’s not scary for the little ones. I must admit it’s super satisfying sucking the snot out.”
