Price

$249.00

Pros

Parents in the Tell Me Baby community think the Oricom Secure740 4.3″ Digital Video Baby Monitor is great value. The screen is large and provides a clear view. They also love the range. “It’s great knowing we’ll be able to check on our daughter even from the shed,” said one reviewer.

Cons

One reviewer said the nighttime view  “gives a basic but sufficiently detailed image.” Someone else said the sound was a bit muffled. It’s also more expensive than the Angelcare model.

Example review

“I got this monitor for my sister’s house for when our LO goes to stay with her. Such a good price for such a good camera! Great picture quality on the home base and no issues connecting the camera up. Her house is brick so I was concerned about connectivity being interrupted – happy to say no issues.”

Pros

The Angelcare AC402P Sound & Movement Monitor is the cheaper option. Many parents love how loud the alarm is. “I could choose the volume, and the handsets were easy to use,” said one mum.

Cons

The Angelcare AC402P Sound & Movement Monitor doesn’t have as many sleep aid features, like white noise. (Read our best white noise machines article.)

Example review

“We bought this after being a friend recommended we purchase one. Initially I was reluctant but knowing how tired we get now with the sleep deprivation, I can turn the monitor on and forget about listening out for my daughter breathing. The alarm is very loud so you’d never miss it, should it go off. These aren’t cheap but for us it is peace of mind so we can all have a restful sleep.”
