I found these Fab iron tablets easy to take and gentle on my tummy (iron supplements are known to have tummy issues/constipation as a side effect). They are a nice size so easy to swallow and were a brand my GP recommended pre-conception as my blood tests showed I had low iron stores.

For both pregnancies i had low iron right at the end. I used this, and with my first noticed a jump in my iron levels that it bounced back to borderline normal on the lower end. Second time round it didn't have much effect at all and my iron stayed super low.
Oh, and be prepared for stools to turn black.
