I don't really know why, but with each of my children I have owned a Medela breastpump! I had the not very handy or trusty hand pump with my eldest, but it did have a couple of good things about it, and the hand pump part locking nicely into the hospital ones was a definite positive. I could probably go through each one I had and which was best, but I know that I'm here to review the Medela swing Maxi flex pump, which, considering how small it was compared to the ones inwas used to, I honestly didn't think it would have as much suction as it did! But it was mainly good for those quick top up pumps when you can keep it somewhere like your handbag or the nappy bag. But in all honesty, when you can only afford what you have, you can't complain! It was portable, compact, and I could use batteries in it. It's noise however gave it away if you were trying to get in a cheeky top up, but I never had the chance to use it as a double pump or anything, I never had those bras, plus constant mastitis makes you need a hand free to painfully work it out, however this one wasn't strong enough for those bad mastitis problems I found. I thought it had plenty of good things about it, but just as many bad things such as the noise, the suction, but I was actually used to a stronger one, so my own fault, but it was on a great special at Chemist warehouse and that was a plus in itself when I desperately needed something! But it's not something that you can use every time and get a goid few bottles filled.

Absolutely loved this! It certainly got a lot of milk out of me so it was nice and powerful without being painful. I fed 2 babies with this pump and will use it again should I need to. I recommend this to my friends which they have also now purchased. No complaints from me!

I love the medela swing maxi breast pump. It's been super useful as I've been able to now pump and express and feed then top up bub with breast milk that I store in the fridge with the medela storage bottles. Sometimes there seems to be an issue with pumping both at the same time but otherwise great.
