If you’re tired of reading the same books over and over again with your kids, Big W has a new program launching this month that both parents and kids will love – and it’s free!

The retailer announced it has teamed up with Sesame Workshop to launch its ‘Free Books for Kids’ program, giving away 2.6 million books.

“Reading is one of the most important and engaging tools to help with a child’s development,” said BIG W’s Acting Managing Director Teresa Rendo.

“BIG W is proud to partner with leaders in learning and literacy to deliver a collection of books that will not only teach kids valuable lessons about the world around them, but also foster a love of reading.”

Elmo loves reading so much, he called on his friends at BIG W to help Australian families read too! Free Books for Kids…

Starting Thursday February 18, parents and kids can pop into any Big W store and collect one of the eight Sesame Street titles included in the program (no purchase necessary!).

However, parents should get in quick because the books are only available while stocks last!

As well as free books, Big W will be putting on a weekly story time on their YouTube Channel. Stories will be read by popular entertainers Olivia Newton-John, Rose Byrne and Rove McManus – to name a few. Families can also tune into the BIG W Free Books for Kids Podcast.
