While it’s true your baby’s skin is generally very soft and smooth, it’s also common for little ones to have something called cradle cap.
Cradle cap, also known as seborrheic dermatitis, is a skin condition that appears as scaly, flaky bits on the scalp. Luckily, in most cases, it doesn’t cause any discomfort to your baby.
According to Pregnancy Birth & Baby, “Cradle cap appears most often in babies in the first 2 months and tends to last only a few weeks or months. It is uncommon in babies older than 3 months but may last up to 6 to 12 months in some babies.”
To help clear up the cradle cap, you can apply a cream or use a shampoo. Just make sure you read the label properly so you don’t aggravate your baby’s scalp.
