A popular Bonds Wondersuit has been recalled because it doesn’t meet safety standards.
Product Safety Australia issued Bonds with a recall notice for its Bonds Poodlette Zip Wondersuit in Navy because it doesn’t meet mandatory standards for fire hazard labelling.
Product Safety Australia says the product, which is available to purchase in stores nationally and online, “may pose a potential fire risk to the wearer”.
Parents should stop using the item and return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
The product (style: BZJSA, sizes 00-2) was available at:
The Wondersuit was available from March 1 to June 26.
“Though there is nothing wrong with the garment outside of missing this mandatory label, child safety is our number one priority, so we have voluntarily recalled any products potentially affected,” Bonds says on its website.
“You can return the product to your place of purchase with your receipt to receive a full refund. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.”
According to News.com.au, “sizes 0000 and 000 are exempt from the mandatory labelling, so do not include a fire label. Size 3 does include a fire label.”
Bonds said this is a one-off occurrence and they are investigating to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
“Regrettably in this instance, there was a breakdown in communication with regards to this product and style only,” they say.
“This error is a rare occurrence and is being investigated to minimise the risk of it happening again.”
For more information, parents should contact Bonds on 1800 806 906 or via its website.
