“When I was pregnant I tried a packet of Fabfol pregnancy vitamins. They were well priced and full of the nutritional needs required in pregnancy. I found these in my local pharmacy. I find tablets hard to swallow in general but these Fabfol pregnancy tablets were okay and not too hard to swallow.”

According to the Elevit website, Elevit Pregnancy Multivitamin contains 800mcg folic acid, which is clinically proven to reduce the risk of neural tube defects such as Spina bifida, iron to help prevent iron deficiency, and iodine to assist in the development of baby’s brain. Elevit also contains a range of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B3 (nicotinamide), vitamin D, and minerals such as zinc, magnesium, selenium, and B complex vitamins, in quantities aligned to the current Australian recommended daily intakes for pregnancy.”

Pros

Lots of reviewers said this pregnancy vitamin did exactly as it was supposed to, and they had no issues taking this tablet. They also liked that it was readily available in pharmacies. 

Cons

Some mums said they felt this pregnancy vitamin made their morning sickness worse. Elevit is more expensive.

“Have tried a couple different types of prenatal vitamins, but this one works the best. All blood tests I have had have come back perfect (even though I’m generally deficient in iron and other things from being vegetarian), said on mum.

“Always feeling like I have plenty of energy and doesn’t give me nausea! Would definitely recommend along with the probiotic.”
