My baby had a poor latch when he was a newborn so my nipples were always very sore and shredded. I used these to see if they could help and they definitely made things much easier in the early days. I don't know if they helped with my strong letdown reflex but they helped with the pain

Medela contact nipple shields were a lifesaver. I completely forgot how painful the beginning of breast feeding was when I had my second and it caught me off guard. These were such a lifesaver while we got the hang of it and gave me time to heal from some damage caused early on.

We started using these when Bub wouldn’t latch in hospital. They were great! Baby took to them straight away with no issues. Have continued using them - they are thin and comfortable. Easy to wash and store. Love the storage case it comes with- easy to take out and about. We have used both the 20mm and 24mm size. For my newborn I think 20 mm works better but the 24mm will probably suit as he gets older. Have had no problem with milk supply.
