Mums review tooshies reusable cloth nappies
tooshies is synonymous with creating eco-conscious products that are better for your baby’s skin and the environment. From biodegradable baby wipes and nappy bags to their baby nappies made with organic bamboo, their products have been well received by parents in the Tell Me Baby community. It’s no surprise that tooshies has now launched a range of reusable cloth nappies to help parents reduce plastic waste even further.

Unlike many other reusable nappies, tooshies cloth nappies are easily available in Coles supermarkets and at $22 a nappy, they also cost less than many other reusable brands.
We asked a group of mums from our reviewer community to test out tooshies Reusable Cloth Nappies and many of them felt they’re a great “starter nappy” for parents switching to reusable nappies for the first time.

“Great entry to cloth nappies”
One of the mums said, “The design is very similar to your standard snap nappies, just with the velcro waist. This will be good for those new to modern cloth.” A few other mums had the same observation. “Overall, for the price, I would recommend these nappies. They are a good entry point into cloth. They are also convenient for toilet training as my toddler can easily open the Velcro closures and take the nappy off herself.”
“It’s a middle of the range priced nappy and a great one to start with if you haven’t used modern cloth nappies before.”
“Easy to use cloth nappies”
Some of the mums found the Velcro feature added to the convenience of using reusable nappies however, some others indicated a preference for snap studs.
One of the mums commented, “I loved the idea of the Velcro and I think with smaller babies it would be great.”
Another reviewer said, “These nappies are super easy to use – the velcro makes adjusting size on bub very easy. My husband always reaches for these nappies instead of our other nappies which have snap closures, as these are much easier to use and adjust to size.”
Soft inner material with good absorbency
Most of the reviewers were pleased with the feel of the inner material on their bubs’ skin. One of the mums noted, “The Tooshie Reusable nappies are really soft as they have used polyester micro fleece and poly terry fabric for their inner layers. For a light wetter this would be great, however, for my heavy wetter I would have liked a bamboo booster insert. We didn’t have any leakage issues which can be a problem with some brands of nappies.”
Another mum said,”I find we don’t need the booster during the day, but have used them overnight for that extra absorption. The booster is really easy to add in from the side. I found that they were very quick to absorb and my son kept dry. He seems very comfortable in them as well.”
Gorgeous gender-neutral prints and colours
Most of our reviewers were impressed with the initial look and feel of the tooshies reusable nappies, which come in four different colours and prints.
One of the mums said, “The prints are great colours and don’t look like ‘nappies’ and have cute designs. They feel and look very luxurious and the performance of them matches.” Another commented, “the colours are gorgeous and great for both genders. I love the patterns on all of them.”

First impressions
Katina J. says, “First impressions were great. I loved the colour of the pram, all the different accessories that also come with the pram looked great too. When taking it out of the box I was impressed with how light weight the pram was.”
Sam M. says, “My first impression of this pram was ‘wow, I can’t believe it fit in the box!’ When I set up the pram it looked so sturdy and full size, but it folds down into a mini size and is so light. I can lift it easily with one hand!”
Ease of use / set up instructions
Katina J. says, “The majority of instructions were really clear and easy to follow. The only part of the pram we struggled with was the second seat attachment. But once we figured it out it was really easy to take off and put back on.”
Sam M. says, “The instructions for set up were very easy, I almost didn’t need them for the majority of the pram setup.”
The comfort factor
Katina J. says, “My baby enjoyed the bassinet. I love the different reclining positions and she seems settled whenever in it. My two year old is very tall for his age. He seems to struggle to get in and out of the second seat and I think he maybe too long to sit in the seat with the hood on comfortably. But once he is in the seat he seems to like it. He is much better in the top main seat but the baby is still a little too young to put on the bottom seat.”
Sam M. says, “My baby slept in the Strider Mini for over an hour and a half which is a blessing because she usually doesn’t sleep in our current pram at all. She is very comfortable sitting and sleeping in the pram when it isn’t moving also.”
My favourite features
Katina J. says, “I love how light the pram is, it moves really well. Even with both children in the seat walking with the pram is nice. The only feedback here I give it is a little hard to push up onto the footpath when crossing the road. I feel I need to move the pram around and pull it up. I love the mud guards on the wheel which stops my son from touching the wheels. I like the carry bag and also the giant hoods on each of the seats. The pram is also really easy to put in and out of the car. The hand recliners are so smooth and easy to use, other prams I have used they can be quite tough and not smooth.”
Sam M. says, “My favourite features are definitely the lightness of the pram, the extreme ease of steering and the storage space underneath. You can expand the basket underneath at the front also if needed, and there are pockets at the back to keep things like bottles etc upright. I also love the ventilation flap on the hood that I can open to get some fresh air in when my daughter is sleeping. Plus I can check on her through this while we are walking without her seeing me and waking up. The pram brake has a little green signal when the brake is off, and with a tap of your foot you can put the brake on and a red signal appears. That is a little feature my mum loves when she pushes my daughter in the pram – it’s visible and easy for her to operate. My husband really likes the adjustable handle bar as he is very tall and can click it into the highest position for him so he doesn’t have to push the pram hunched over. We also use the pouch bag a lot even going on small walks, it fits so much in there that I often don’t have to take my whole nappy bag out with us, it buttons on to the push bar. There is a zip pouch on the back of the pram hood that we keep money/licences etc in when we go for quick beach walks – it’s fairly hidden from view so our valuables feel safe.”
Would you recommend the pram to others?
Katina J. says, “Yes I would recommend this pram to anyone with two young children that is looking for a lightweight pram and affordable pram. It really is great bang for your buck.”
Sam M. says, “This pram does all the things I would expect of a very high end luxury stroller, but the bonus is that it’s lighter, has more space underneath and is a smooth ride for parent and baby! If it came with a cup holder for my morning coffee that would be a bonus, apart from that I cannot fault this stroller.”

Liv, mum to a 14-month old says: I give this stroller five stars out of five. I can’t stop talking about how impressed I am with this stroller. I even have people booking in to borrow it for their next holiday!
Tay, mum to a 1 year old says: The butterfly is really easy to use – it makes mum life just that little bit easier. I’ve used other compact or travel strollers before and this is by far the best. So lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.
First impressions of the Bugaboo Butterfly seat pram
Liv says: When I first unpacked the Bugaboo Butterfly, I was very impressed with how compact it was and that it didn’t require much assembly! The instructions were straightforward to follow to put the padded seat in, and the stroller was ready to go in a few minutes. My son was already climbing in, thanks to the adjustable footrest.
Tay says: My first impression of the Butterfly is that it looks very sturdy and luxurious for a compact pram. Design wise it’s very sleek and modern.
The pram was very easy to assemble, there were not many parts that needed to be put together, all we had to do was take the pram out and pop the pram liner seat on, there was no further assembly needed.

The comfort factor
Liv says: My son, who is 13kg, looks pretty comfortable in the Bugaboo Butterfly and naps really well in it while we are on the go (and also at home when he’s being difficult). I love that there is a mesh panel (if you unzip it) so you can keep an eye on your baby while they sleep (or while you are trying to get them to sleep in the stroller). The sun canopy is large enough to block out the sun – larger than other strollers I’ve used, anyway.
Tay says: The seat is very spacious and my son doesn’t look or feel cramped at all. It’s a much larger seat than other compact strollers I have tried. The length is great and with tall boys very handy for me.

Ease of use on different terrains
Liv says: I found the Bugaboo Butterfly easy to steer! Even one-handed while drinking a coffee. I bought a cheap coffee holder and attached it to the handlebar as a bonus. I’ve pushed it over grass and gravel, up steps and down with no issues. And it has excellent turning capabilities and feels like it would be a very smooth ride for bubs.
Tay says: The suspension is great, really easy to use on different surfaces and even with one hand.
I really like that it has a large seat and carries up to 22kgs, having boys that have always been taller than average they tend to grow out of things before their age, so having a larger seat and weight capacity is a huge plus.

Folding/unfolding and storage
Liv says: Folding and unfolding the Butterfly is so easy compared to other strollers I have tried – it takes seconds, and you’re ready to go. I also love how stylish it is. We have a blue colour, and I love it.
The size of the stroller is deceiving but in a good way. When folded up, it’s small enough to fit in tiny spaces (I took it on a shuttle bus, and it fit in my leg space), but when you fold it out, there’s plenty of room for my son to sit and recline.
Tay says: This has to be my favourite feature of the pram of how easy it is unfold and fold again. You really only need one hand and it unfolds in one second! There are 2 buttons on the handle that you just push with one hand and you fold. It’s so simple and easy and great if my other hand is busy or holding something else which is often. Unfolding is just as easy.

Ease of carrying the stroller
Liv says: Carrying this stroller when you aren’t using it is a breeze. You can put a strap over your shoulder, or you can use the footrest to lift it. It makes a great travel companion that would easily fit in even the smallest boot spaces. We recently went away for a weekend, and having a smaller stroller instead of our big bulky pram meant our car wasn’t overflowing like it usually is. I would 100% take this is on a plane, it is that compact and easy to carry.
Tay says: The carry strap is comfortable and easy to pop it on your shoulder, so you are able to be hands free. It can also be carried by the handlebar or the leg rest, however I found using the carry strap the most convenient way.
I can’t wait to try this out on the plane as it’s IATA compatible, which means I can wheel it right on the plane and pop it in the overhead locker.

Tell Me Baby is Australia’s number one baby product review website, featuring over 96,000 genuine reviews from real parents on more than 5,000 products.
Now running in its sixth year, our annual awards program highlights the products that parents in the Tell Me Baby community love and have rated as the best. Unlike many other awards, our winners aren’t chosen by a panel of judges – instead, they’re based on genuine reviews by Aussie parents who have personally used the products.
We look at the ratings received from our members over a period of one year – and then crunch the numbers to reveal the products parents love the most.
